Best jerky ever my family absolutely love it. Great service as well.
I had seen ads for this jerky and was particularly curious about the salt and vinegar one. I bought a 250g tasting pack as well as the 50g tasting packs. While the 50g packs are handy, I expect that I will be buying the 250g bags in future as the 50g ones didnt last.
I really liked the salt and vinegar. The flavour bag was opened and sprinkled over the jerky, resealed the bag and shook and the end result was so good that 50g just didnt last. It was idea without the flavour overpowering the beef. I will certainly be addicted to it.
I had read reviews of the chilli being too hot for some. I am a chilli-head and the first piece I had, I thought that they'd overdone the heat then realised it was the common problem with chilli and the inconsistency of the heat. The rest of the pieces I thought were good in that the heat wasnt too much, there was good flavour that complimented the beef.
The plain beef was also good and once you started to chew the flavours were well balanced and enjoyable. I would still prefer some of the flavoured ones but this was also a good example of jerky.
The smoked I really enjoyed as the flavour wasnt overpowering as I have found other brands to be. The real problem was that it was so morish that 50g will never be enough.
The garlic had my curiosity up as it can be overpowering or synthetic but this wasnt. The garlic was present but not overpowering and like the smoked, just the perfect balance and 50g was too small a bag.
The last to try was the teriyaki, and while I am not normally a fan of that flavour, again 3099 got the balance for me pretty right. While for me it isnt the flavour I would rush at, I would still buy some 50g bags alongside the 250g for variety or to give others.
I really liked their products, I love the fact that they are local, and they dont have a lot of additives etc and the beef tastes like beef. Yes you have to chew, but that is why I buy it. The real problem is that I know that when I crack the 250g bags I will find that they are too small as well.
Now to crack the 250g bag of salt and vinegar as a reward for all of this typing.
